Design Observer Studio Sessions May 2

On March 20, Design Observer launched a new initiative to create space for critical conversations, which have become even more necessary in this season of quarantine and social distancing. The Design Observer Studio Sessions continue our long-term commitment to hosting intimate and influential gatherings where we look together at the impact that design has on our lives and on the world around us.

Each week, Design Observer welcomes 100 members of the extended community to engage with two leading voices in design, business, culture and technology. The conversations are hosted by Design Observer co-founders, Jessica Helfand and Michael Bierut, and include lively Q+A from all attendees. (Participants have noted that the audience is often just as noteworthy as the guests.) Past sessions have included author Sara Hendren, Yale’s Dean of Architecture Deborah Berke, illustrator Christophe Niemann and many others.

On May 2, we welcome Anil Dash and Anna Wiener.

Anil Dash is the CEO of Glitch, and is recognized as one of the most prominent voices advocating for a more humane, inclusive and ethical technology industry through his work as an entrepreneur, activist and writer.

Anna Weiner writes about tech culture for the New Yorker. Her new book Uncanny Valley, a memoir of her time working in Silicon Valley startup culture, was published in January.
